Transfer your video tapes to DVD and have your precious memories preserved forever.
We will professionally transfer your video cassette tapes and video camera tapes to DVD-Video in the order you specify, usually in chronological order.
A DVD will accomodate up to 2 hours of full digital quality video tape recordings, or 4 hours of analogue video tape recordings.
Each DVD will feature a menu with selection or 'play' buttons, one for each video cassette tape transfer. To these buttons we can incorporate a label or 'title'. The buttons will allow you to select a programme (or tape) without having to fast forward or rewind, as you had to with a video tape.
Your video tape transfer DVD(s) are supplied attractively printed, and packaged in DVD cases, together with an index cover.
We can also produce additional copies of the DVD's should you require them.
We transfer VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS, SVHS-C, 8mm, Hi 8, Video 8, Betamax, Digital 8, mini DV to DVD.

Convert your video and camcorder tapes to AVI, Quicktime or MPEG2 video files, ready to play on your computer or laptop. Video files are ideal for storage, or importing your video tape transfer into your computer editing software to create your own video transfer DVD.
For smaller quantities, the video tape transfer files can be supplied to you on DVD-ROM. For larger quantities of video tapes we will need to supply the video tape transfer files on an external hard drive. The drive is easy to use, by simply pluging it into a USB socket on your computer. We can supply the hard drive, or you are welcome to provide your own.
AVI and Quicktime files require approx. 13 Gigabyte per hour, MPEG2 approx. 2 Gigabytes per hour.
We transfer and convert VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS, SVHS-C, 8mm, Hi 8, Video 8, Betamax, Digital 8, mini DV to video files.

Why Should I transfer my video and camcorder tapes to DVD / video files?
Video tapes won't last forever, even if they are simply stored away and not used.
The images and sound will deteriorate over time due to stray magnetic fields.
Even changes in temperature and humidity can cause physical damage to the cassettes.
Then there is the wear and tear from playing, and the inevitable day the machine decides to 'chew up' your tapes.
Your irreplaceable video tape cassettes will eventually become unplayable.

DVD's and digital files on the other hand, can last forever, and because the video tape transfer is stored digitally, the DVD or video file can be copied easily and without loss of picture or sound quality.
In fact the picture quality from a DVD can be better than from the video tape, particularly when pausing or fast forwarding the picture.
DVD's are also much more convenient than video tapes. They are smaller, of superior quality and never wear out. They will play on DVD players, computers and laptops.

How good is the quality of the video tape transfer / conversion?
We use professional video decks to transfer video cassette tapes to DVD.
When we convert from analogue video tapes, the video signal is passed through a time base corrector,
which stabilises, strengthens and enhances the video signal from your older tapes.
Digital video tapes are captured via firewire digital connection, ensuring no loss in quality.
Your cassette tape recordings are then captured to DVD or as video files, employing the latest professional software and hardware.

Worldwide Video Standards Conversion
In the UK we use the PAL video system. Many other countries use different video systems such as NTSC and SECAM.
We can play and convert from video cassette tapes recorded in any worldwide system, and convert between systems if required.
We can also create DVD's and video files in any worldwide video system.

Video Tape Repairs
We can usually carry out a temporary repair to damaged or broken domestic analogue video tape cassettes in order to transfer them.
We will not attempt to repair digital or broadcast video tape.

How are your video cassette tape transfer and conversion charges calculated?
We charge per hour of recording, rather than per cassette tape.
So for example if the length of a tape is three hours, but the video recording on it only lasts for one hour, we only transfer and charge for that hour.
The running time of each cassette tape recording you supply is added together to determine the total running time of your order. The charge is then calculated at the hourly rate.

Unless requested otherwise, we will transfer from all of the video tapes you submit to us for conversion.
Alternatively, and should you instruct us to, we will transfer as many hours or cassettes as you request, before contacting you to advise how the work is progressing and for your further instruction.

If you do not want us to transfer all of the recording on a particular video tape, wind the cassette to where conversion should start, and label the tape with the total running time required.
