Let us transfer your video to dvd or Blu Ray, and preserve your precious memories in digital format forever.
We can convert -
VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS, SVHS-C, Betamax, 8mm, Hi8, Video8, miniDV, Digital 8, Micro MV, Betamax and Umatic video tape formats.
DVD
Enjoy the benefits of watching your video tapes on DVD. The disc will feature a menu with selection or 'play' buttons, one for each tape. To these buttons we can incorporate a label or 'title'. The buttons will allow you to select a recording without having to fast forward or rewind, as you had to with the tape.
We use professional players to transfer the video to DVD in the order you specify, usually in chronological order. Each disc will accomodate up to 4 hours of older analogue tapes, or two hours of digital camcorder tapes.
The disc(s) are supplied attractively printed, and packaged in cases, together with an index cover. Additional copies can also be ordered.
Blu Ray
Now you can view your video tapes upscaled to HD. When viewing Blu Ray discs on a HD television, the standard definition recordings will be upscaled to high definition resolution. This can produce a smoother looking image, with better detail and colour consistency.
Another great advantage of using Blu Ray to archive your video tapes is it's large capacity. Each disc can accomodate up to 12 hours of video.
The Blu Ray disc will feature selection or 'play' buttons, one for each tape. To these buttons we can incorporate a label or 'title'. The buttons will allow you to select a recording without having to fast forward or rewind, as you had to with the tape. We use professional players to transfer the tapes to Blu Ray in the order you specify, usually in chronological order.
The Blu-Ray discs are supplied attractively printed, and packaged in cases, together with an index cover.
Additional Blu Ray copies and DVD versions can also be ordered.
AVI, Quicktime, MPEG 2
We transfer video to digital files including AVI and MPEG 2 (for Windows), and Quicktime (for MAC), ready to play on your computer or laptop. We use professional players to transfer the tapes to files. Each tape will be captured as an individual file. The files are ideal for storage, or for importing your transfer into your computer editing software to create your own DVD's.
AVI and Quicktime (MOV) digital files require approx. 13 Gigabyte per hour, and we will need to supply these on an external hard disc drive. The drive is easy to use, by simply pluging it into a USB socket on your computer. We can supply the hard drive, or you are welcome to provide your own.
MPEG2 digital files require approx. 2 Gigabytes per hour, and we can sometimes supply these on DVD-ROM.
Apple Devices
We can convert video to files compatible with the ipod touch, iphone, ipad and AppleTV. The files will be ready to import into itunes, for exporting to your Apple device.
Time Based Restoration
When we convert from VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS, SVHS-C, Betamax, 8mm and Hi8 analogue tapes, the video signal is passed through a time base corrector, which stabilises, strengthens and enhances the images from your older tapes. Digital 8 and miniDV digital tapes are captured via firewire digital connection, ensuring no loss in quality. Your recordings are then captured to disc or files employing the latest professional software and hardware.
Video Tape Repairs
We can usually carry out a temporary repair to damaged or broken tape cassettes in order to transfer them.
Tape stuck in Camera? Let us have the camera, together with all connection leads and instruction manual if you have them. We can usually retrieve the tape for transfer.
Worldwide Video Standards
There are 5 worldwide video tape standards - NTSC, PAL, SECAM, PAL-M and MESECAM. In the UK we use the PAL video system. In the United states they use the NTSC format. Many other countries use one of these other video tape systems.
We can play and convert from most video cassette tape formats recorded in any worldwide system. We can also create DVD's and digital video files in any worldwide video system. Price depends on tape format and conversion type.
