Some information on video file types -
MPEG 1 video files
These will play on virtually any computer using Windows Media Player, Quick Time player, Real Player, and a variety of other media player software. They are of relatively small file size, and as they are supplied on CD, copies can be produced and distributed inexpensively. A CD-ROM will hold around 60 to 70 minutes of mpeg1 video.
Powerpoint - MPEG 1 files are compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint and can be embedded into a PowerPoint presentation.
VCD - Compliant files created to be used to produce a VCD (video CD). We can supply as raw file on CD-ROM, or as VCD format.
MPEG 2 video files
Higher quality and larger file size than MPEG1. Suitable for producing DVD's or SVCD's.
DVD - Compliant files created to be used to produce a DVD-Video. We can supply as raw file on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, or as DVD-Video format.
SVCD - Compliant files created to be used to produce a SVCD (super video CD). We can supply as raw file on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, or as SVCD format.
A CD-ROM will hold around 30 minutes, a DVD-ROM will hold 120 minutes.
AVI, MOV video files
High quality uncompressed files. Ideal for video editing. AVI / MOV files are very large. We can supply up to approx. 3 minutes on CD-ROM, 20 Minutes on DVD-ROM, 40 minutes on dual layer DVD-ROM or whatever size required on external hard drive which you can supply, or purchase from us.
Flash Video (FLV)
High quality video files ideal for website viewing. Includes the latest standard H.264 encoded mp4 with option of player interface or 'skin'.
