Transfer Audio Cassette Tapes to CD
We will professionally transfer audio cassette tapes to CD. The tape transfer to CD process is constantly monitored as it progresses.
The tape cassettes are transferred to CD with one of three play back options -
(1) Two selectable tracks on the CD, one for each side of the cassette. This is the de-fault setting, or you can request-
(2) Selectable tracks on the CD at increments of 1, 3 or 5 minutes (particularly useful for non musical recordings).
(3) Seperate selectable tracks on the CD for each music track / non musical passage on the tape.
We can only offer this third option within the basic transfer price if your tape features clearly distinguishable seperate tracks.
Otherwise, as an additional service, we can create a new CD with selectable tracks to your instruction once you have listened to the CD that has been created as per option 1.
No need to return the CD, you just need to advise the counter readings at the points you need a new track to start.
Your CD(s) are supplied attractively printed, and packaged in CD jewel cases, together with an index cover.

MP3 files are also ideal for loading onto your ipod / mp3 player.
Audio files supplied on CD-ROM.
Audio Compact Cassettes
Philips introduced the compact audio cassette medium for audio storage in Europe in 1963, and in the United States in 1964, under the trademark name Compact Cassette. Although there were other magnetic tape cartridge systems, the Compact Cassette became dominant as a result of Philips's decision in the face of pressure from Sony to license the format free. It went on to become a popular (and re-recordable) alternative to the 12 inch vinyl LP during the late 1970s.
Compact Cassettes consist of two miniature spools, between which a magnetically coated plastic tape is passed and wound. These spools and their attendant parts are held inside a protective plastic shell. Two stereo pairs of tracks (four total) or two monaural audio tracks are available on the tape; one stereo pair or one monophonic track is played or recorded when the tape is moving in one direction and the second pair when moving in the other direction. This reversal is achieved either by manually flipping the cassette or by having the machine itself change the direction of tape movement ("auto-reverse").
Tape cassettes were produced in various lengths to a maximum of 2 hours (1 hour each side of a C120 cassette).
We can transfer these tapes to audio CD, or convert to WAV or MP3 audio files on CD-ROM
Micro Cassettes, Mini Cassettes
Commonly used in dictation machines, we can transfer these tapes to audio CD, or convert to WAV or MP3 audio files on CD-ROM.
Cassette Tape Audio Cleaning
We can sometimes improve the sound quality and reduce background noise with special audio cleaning computer software.
This process can be particularly effective at reducing hiss on old tapes.
Audio Cassette Tape Repairs
We can usually carry out a temporary repair to all formats of damaged or faulty cassette audio tapes including compact cassettes, microcassettes and mini cassettes, in order to transfer or convert them to CD.
Compilation CD
Once you have received and listened to the transfer on CD, you may like to have a compilation CD or CD's created from the transfer, featuring the 'best bits'.
You just need to tell us which CD tracks you would like the compilation CD(s) created from.
If it is only part of a track that you want, simply advise us of the counter readings for the section you require.
You do not need to return your original transfer CD's if you order within 60 days of receiving them.
Copies of your CD's
We can supply copies of your transfer CD's as part of your order, or at a later date.
We will hold digital masters of your recordings for 60 days (or longer on request) from dispatch of your order.
Once you have recieved your CD's, should you require further copies during this time please phone or email us with your requirements.
After 60 days please return you master CD's for copying.
Copies on cassette tape are also available.
How are your audio cassette
tape transfer charges calculated?
We cannot always determine how much has been recorded on your tapes until we have played and transferred or converted all of the tape.
We charge per hour of recording, rather than per tape. The running time of each audio cassette tape you supply is added together to determine the total running time of your order. The charge is then calculated at the hourly rate.
Depending on your instruction, we will either transfer all of the tapes you supply, or transfer as many hours or cassettes as as you request, before contacting you to advise how the work is progressing and for your further instruction
